What is the first should piece you can get in the game?

I'm currently using a lvl 15 Warrior, and starting doing RFC. However, quite a few other people have shoulder pieces, even some lvl 16 mages have them, yet I thought shoulder pieces were pretty rare at this sort of level.

So what's the first shoulder piece you can come across?|||Maybe they were wearing hierloom shoulders? You can wear them from level 1 and they level with your char, increasing their stats and giving a baseline 10% xp bonus.

Other than that the first are around 16-17 and are grey items.|||Heirloom shoulders can be equipped from level 1, so that's probably what you saw. The first shoulders you could wear are at level 17. They're called Woolen Shoulders or something and have +5 stamina.|||Quote:

So, are they random drops? I don't want to grind RFC for hours trying to get rare shoulders.|||Quote:

Yep, random drops... and you won't get rare shoulders at level 15 ;)|||Quote:

Strange, seeing as by lvl 18 mage got blue shoulders twice.|||Quote:

That'll be BOP (bind on pickup) listed instance boss loot. You'll have to find out what low level dungeon bosses will drop warrior shoulders and farm them. Random world drop BOE (bind on equip) blue shoulders will start to appear at much higher levels.

But TBH you really shoudlnt be worrying about gear at low levels. You burn through gear so quickly that going after a specific drop will hinder the most important thing which should be levelling. All my alts tend to make do with a few hierloom pieces and just grap whatever quest loot helps. Once I hit max I start worrying about gear.|||At the low level stick to greens.|||What the mage may have had was "something useful" as the reward for doing a random dungeon.
