I dont understand the chat system

Hi, Ive been playing for 2 weeks now and have never chat to anyone becuase i just dont understand how. I dont understand all the acronims and abbv words, its gobbdegook to me, but im at the stage where i need help and I dont know how to go about it.

I seem to have lost my trade channel, but how do you speak in it, whenever i try to speak nothing happens.

Its almost enough to put me off WOW.

Is there a help guide on using the chat channels i can be directed to?

/1 is usually your zone channel.

/3 is usually trade if you are in a city, if you don't see it...I'm guessing you're probably not in a city anymore.

Thanks, I just want to join a hunt, help out, get involved, try some dungeons. but im scared of being too noob and mucking up peoples game. im only a lvl 16 rogue and been playing wow for only a week of 2.

its exciting as i dont know what to do, where to go etc, but im scared to put my hand up and offer in on a hunt of something. I also need help with a couple of quests qhich are pretty hard.|||Quote:

A hunt? Not quite sure what that is.

There are a couple of instances at this level, but at your experience, I'd work a little more on grasping your character first. (I didn't do a single instance until I was level 55...in Vanilla. While this is extreme, and no, I don't suggest it, it might be best to learn the game a little more)

one question though, how do i find out how much an item is worth? I found some pretty nice stuff to sell i think, i try to see what others sell for on the AH, but is there a website telling roughly what things are worth?

There is an addon called auctioneer that does somewhat, and there are a couple of websites (wowhead) that do as well. But the best is to learn your server's economy, since they're all different.|||thanks, semiiramiis that site looks very good, ill spend some time reading up. appreciate all your help.
