Not enough space for loot

Hi, ive been playing a few weeks now and im lvl 29 night elf rogue, leaning towards combat focus with skinning, leather working, first aid and fishing.

I thought carefully about my attributed, but im just steering naturally towards combat.

anyway, enough about me lol, I was wondering how i get more bank spae, or space in general. I liked UO for this, lots of banks space and lock downs.

How do i get more space, its really annoying to have to bin or sell stuff i want to keep, most of my time spent in WOW is obsessing over what to trade/sell/keep/scrap/AH etc...Its really annoying. I keep seeing guild vaults, what are they? im not in a guild, but do they get space? Can i have just my own guild or can i join one and have loot space?

so many questions, oh and another thing, the chat system is infuriating, trying to ask questions with all the spam, i cant keep up!

Many thanks

Buy more bags. Buy bigger bags. Buy more bank slots. Make bank alts (characters that exist only to give you a place to put your stuff in their bank slots) Get a few souls to make a guild so you can have your own guild bank with that alt.|||for spam: get the add-on Badboy. It removes practically all spam from chat.

For bag space: what Semii says. But also throw some stuff away, sell it at a vendor or at the AH. All grey stuff, all food/fishes/bandages you don't need, all white stuff that isn't a quest item or trade good, all items you crafted but no longer need for recipes ... If you're not sure look the item up at Wowwiki.com before you get rid of it.

The best bags to get may be the 16-slot Netherweave Bags, which you can get in the AH; on my server they're about 5g each, so for 20g you've got 80 slots total (with backpack).|||Bags, more bags, bigger bags, are always a good investment. And yes, Netherweave are a good choice.

Also, remember every new character starts off with bank slots and inventory slots. You're permitted to have 10 characters per server, so make a couple that have no reason to be except as bank toons. Choose a race (of your faction, of course) that has an easy go of getting to their capital, make the run, and park them there. Right now I have two bank toons...one is strictly that, and one also serves as "Tired of main, will play alt!" diversion.|||While it's not a bad idea to focus hard on gathering gold at first (mining is good for this) and investing in bigger bags (a couple of 16-slotters make a world of difference), for a first character this may not be as clear-cut as we make it out to be.

So I suggest the cheaper route of sending anything that isn't soulbound to an extra character who is parked in a capital city on a permanent basis. That character can also auction stuff for you so that saves travel time.|||I would also recommend getting the addon "crap-away". This addon automatically sells all grey items in your bags whenever you visit a vendor. I found it saves a lot of time and means you don't miss any items that will clog up your bags (except for the occassional grey quest item that it won't sell).|||Quote:

Another good addon is VendorBait, which will show you,, when you have a quest that offers a choice of item rewards, which one will bring you the most money if you take it and then sell it to a vendor.|||I'm going to disagree with the addon advice spree right now. One, because simply I am not that fond of addons period. I think they're often more trouble than they're worth and I will do whatever it takes to play without them and...

Two: New player + tons of addons = has the possibility of opening up a whole new can of worms. Let's help teach bag maintenance and some obvious, non addon tricks before we go there...

Vend your grays. Check your whites against the ah for going price. If they ah better than they vend, then auction them. If not, vend them. Keep everything *you* will need for your professions...by increasing your bank/bag/character slots... through more bags, bigger bags, more bank slots, and bank alts.|||Quote:

I used to use a similar addon but stopped using it after it sold my TBC badge of justice epic crossbow (luckily I spotted the mistake and bought it back before logging out). It was just a glitch, but a very dangerous glitch.|||Quote:

In general, yes, you are right, new players with loads of addons is a bad idea (and experienced players as well - witnessed when I tried to use pally power for the first time). However, the addon I mentioned is very very easy to use. There are no settings for it, I have used it up to level 80 and found no bugs or glitches and it just does exactly what it is supposed to do. It's probably the most basic addon you can get. As I said, it saves time and means you don't miss any grey items that are clogging up your bags.
