Having Problems

Sorry first of all for making another thread, I just feel that this needs it.

Right now, I feel a little lost in WoW - As I have just started, and I am level 13. I don't seem to be able to find any quests that I can do on my own. They are all far too hard for a level 13 hunter to take on and I don't really know what to do now.

I keep trying to find new quests, places, and such like but I just cannot find any. I don't know how I'm suppose to do them and level up?

I really need help finding out what levels I can get stuff at, and that kind of thing. Like a list of level - items.

Right now, I can't seem to stay alive very long whilst questing, any other options to level up?

I know what you are...what I need to know now is where you are. If, at your level, you're off of Teldrassil, (edit...apparently Darkshore is 9-25...you may be headed the wrong direction deeper into the higher level part, Auberdine should offer you an array of appropriately leveled quests?)you left too early for a new player. You can also travel to the human starting zone by a convenient boat from Auberdine and do the quests there. Also, how upgraded is your account? This will let me know if the Draenei starting zones (also conveniently located) are an option. Don't know what I just asked? Pretty easy...did you pay for the Burning Crusade expansion, are you only playing classic? Trial?

(PS- There's no need to bold your posts. Hear you just fine without it.)|||I am playing Trial and I am currently in Stormwind, which has taught me to weild Swords and such like. How do I learn to weild Mail?

There are small quests here. But kind of fun :P|||Quote:

You probably aren't high enough to learn mail, I think it's level 40 for hunters (the same as shaman) Remember, the further away you travel from a race's spawn point, (humans spawn just outside of Stormwind) the higher the quests. Travel east from Stormwind and you'll find higher. You should start by reading your class overview

http://www.wowwiki.com/Hunter|||Ok, I learned a great deal from that. Should I do what people call "Level Grinding"? bascially kill stuff till you level up?

Or, should I try to find a group to attack with?

Thanks|||Honestly, at lower levels, it's more of a pain to get a group together for the few quests that might need one than is really necessary. I'd suggest solo leveling until you reach the level of the first instance you can visit. (For the Alliance, I'm thinking this is Deadmines... which is about level 20ish... <My history with the Alliance is spotty>) Then if you see people looking for dps for Deadmines, see if they'll take you. I don't think Deadmines is accessible through the cross server dungeon finder...if I'm wrong, well...they'll let us know.

I'm not a great fan of "grind" leveling. Quests help break up the monotony of killing things, are occasionally there to help teach you an aspect of the game, and sometimes give good rewards.|||Most quests require you to kill a bunch of things so why not quest rather than just kill a bunch of things? It's more efficient.|||Quote:

the dungeon finder tool becomes available at level 15, and since it teleports you to the instance once the group is made, you can do instances in the other faction's area. for example, at level 15 you'll have access to RageFire Chasm, the entrance to which is located in the Orc capital of Orgrammar. the dungeon finder works for all instances and it will automatically group you withh people of your level range to do the instance.

in Stormwind, go to the hunter trainer (ask a guard for directions) and they will bring up a list of hunter skills, what those skills do, and what level you can learn them. new skills become available every 2 levels (10, 12, 14, 16, etc.) so make sure you go back to the trainer to buy new skills and upgrade your existing skills.

at level 13 you should have tamed your first pet. when leveling, send your pet in first to attack a mob. the enemy then focuses on the pet while you shoot them from far away. you then take 0 damage and the mob dies quickly. use your tracking skills to help locate clumps of enemies and named quest mobs.

EDIT: for questing in the human lands, go south along the road from stormwind until you get to the villiage of Goldshire. from there, turn west and follow the road until you get to Westfall. this is the level 10-20 area and there will be plenty of quests for you to do. once in Westfall, follow the road south until you come to Sentinel Hill. most of the quests are located here and should take you up to around level 20. do the quest chains and they will eeventually give you a "bread-crumb" quest which will take you to the next leveling zone (redridge mountains).|||can you use the RDF with the trial version?|||Quote:

Most helpful information in my opinion. Dying all the time is no fun. As a hunter the rule is: If you're getting hit you're doing it wrong. Your pet is supposed to be taking the hits while you ploink arrows in the mob's butt. If your pet can't hold aggro then perhaps you're not letting it growl. Also: give your pet a hit or two before opening up with your shots.
