how do I use a bow

this is my first time playing WoW

and can't figure out how to attack with the bow

I'm a Night Elf Rogue. I have daggers in my melee slots and a bow in my range slot.

the only time i can get her to pull out her bow is by pressing "z" on the key board. but as soon as i try to attack anything she puts it away and pull her daggers out

what am I doing wrong.

thanks in advance

Chris|||In order to fire a bow/gun as a class other than Hunter, you need to locate the "Shoot" ability. It should be under the "general" tab in your skill book. Only the Hunter class can auto-fire a bow/gun, otherwise you have to click the Shoot ability each time to fire a shot.|||Word to the wise as a Rogue...

Look for a ranged weapon with +x to agility on it. The more the better.

I suggest Throat Piercers at your level but it might be really hard for you as a NE to obtain those. Check the AH under thrown weapons for them. They might be a bit expensive. Try looking for one of these.|||Mostly as a rogue, you're not going to pulling with a bow (or any other ranged weapon, for that matter). Your best attacks are out of stealth -- sneak up behind them and use one of your special attacks to put the big hurt on them. There are some occasions where you WILL want to pull (ie. bring a mob to you), but for the most part, as Mistro said, any ranged weapon is mostly going to provide extra stats for you.

Most ranged weapons don't have any stats on them until you're much higher level, so until then, just get whatever is cheap and gets the job done. Don't worry too much about the damage done by your ranged weapon; rogues don't do any significant damage with a ranged weapon and likely will never be able to get off more than one shot until the mob closes with them. Rogues are up close and personal, not stand back and shoot. If you want that, roll a hunter.

Part of me thinks you confused him even more now.|||Quote:

I'd be happy to educate him on the ways of daggery.
