gear x 2

So if I'm understanding WOW gear correctly you do random 5 man heroics to get gear used to do the 5 man dungeons, you use the justice points you get for getting gear that will get you into raids, and then you get raid tokens for an upgrade to the justice point gear?

Is this correct? If so I think I've finally got it, if not I will jump off a bridge out of gear frustration.|||very nearly right (don't jump!). For my understanding, 5 man heroics and 5 man dungeons are the same thing, just that the heroic mode is harder, with better loot.

Other than that, spot on :-)|||You can start doing 5-man (normal) dungeons at level 70. Once you are 80 you can do 5-man Heroic dungeons. You use Heroics to improve your gear, both via loot and via justice points (emblems in the past). This way you prepare for raiding.|||Quote:

Yes. Pretty much.

This is how it goes.

You do 5man HCs, get upgrades, do all of the ICC 5man instances (Pit of Saron, Halls of reflection, the Forge of Souls).

You will be getting Justice points from these runs, use them to buy gear from the JP vendors located in Dalaran (ask gaurd).

Once you have an avergae iLvl of 232-245 you can jump into TOC or even ICC 10 nowadays.

Thats it.

As for when Cataclysm comes:

You do 5 mans normal instances to gear for HC instances.

You craft gear to skip normal instances and jump into HCs.

You gear in HCs to do the first tier of ten man raids.

Etc...|||At L80, before you CAN do heroics, you need to gear up a tiny bit in non-heroic L80 5-mans. There's a gear-check built-in.
