Quartermaster question

I was in Dalaran yesterday after banking up a decent amount of justice points and went to the horde inn. I stumbled upon the room with the 4-5 quartermasters in a circle.

My questions are following:

1.)If all the other badges were removed why then are there 5 quartermasters offering a ton of different gear? Is one qm's gear better than another? I'm starting to get the hang off the gear but this was a road block.

2.)Also I was told to buy pvp daggers b/c the dps is high and the other stats are good (atk power, haste rating etc). Is there actual pve daggers in the game and where would i get them. A player told me only as drops is this accurate?|||1 : It is only since the latest patch that you only have one currency. Before you had many different badges and had to go to the right vendor.

2 : Yes, the vendors dont sell PvE weapons. The PvP ones are quite good though.|||If you're a Rogue...get the Shrapnel star from the badge of frost vendor.|||Quote:

Yes. As far as the gear goes, Frost Badge > Triumph Badge > Conquerer Badge > Valor Badge > Heroism Badge. The Frost Badge vendor might not have a piece of gear for a certain slot though, and in that case, you would see if the Triumph Vendor has it. Also be aware that there are vendors that have the T10 gear available for badges. This vendor is generally in the shop with your armor type. (So the cloth T10 is in the "Threads of Time" shop.)

The easiest way to tell which gear is a higher level is to look at the ilvl of the gear. I can't remember where it is, but there is an option somewhere in the interface to turn on the ilvl display in tooltips. Some mods show it as well. As a general rule, higher ilvl is better. (There are always exceptions, of course. For example, if your T10 bonus is good, it's better to get those pieces even though they are ilvl 251, instead of the ilvl 264 pieces the Frost Badge vendor has. Also, sometimes the higher ilvl piece will have a stat that's not very useful, which can make a lower ilvl piece with all strong stats better. Still, ilvl is a good place to start.)

The only other weapon you can "buy" is the Quel'Delar. You get that from doing a quest chain that starts with a Battered Hilt. The Battered Hilt is a rare drop from the ICC 5 mans, but it can be sold, so they can be purchased in trade or on the AH. They tend to be expensive, and are not really worth it at this point unless you want to experience the quest chain.

The PvP weapon is generally better than the Quel'Delar for any class that values weapon dps or spellpower highly. (Which happens to be pretty much everyone right now.)
